Brand spotlight: Studio 78 Paris
Chic, French, fun, natural and fabulous.
Who is that coy cutie peeking out from behind the leaves on these pieces from the Studio 78 Paris makeup line? I want to hang out with her and her fabulous mane of cascading foliage.
âStudio 78 Paris carries the prestigious ECO CERT organic certification. Using botanical ingredients combined with a gorgeous shade range Studio 78 Paris was created by Margareth Halfon who got her experience developing products for Guerlain Makeup and Rouge Baiser. These perfectly pigmented products are also gentle enough for sensitive skin.â âcredobeauty.com
The playful pigments in the Studio 78 Paris makeup line are products of founder Margareth Halfonâs creative mind. The organic beauty brand is still mostly under the radar here in the U.S., but Credo Beauty does ship their products and many other clean/natural beauty brands internationally to our side of the pond. And if youâre interested, nowâs the time to act because you can also get 20% off orders over $75 through Dec. 11 using code CredoLovesFriends.
In many ways, I dunnoâŠStudio 78 Paris seems like a line that could (and should) be the next underground cult fave of beauty girls who know whatâs cool before social media and magazines call it cool â chic black and white packaging, playful pigments, and a simple elegance thatâs totally casual.
Everything in the line carries the ECOCERT organic certification, which means that their products all have at least 95% plant-based ingredients, and no GMOs, parabens, phenoxyethanol, nanoparticles, silicon, PEG, synthetic perfumes and dyes, or animal-derived ingredients, unless itâs things that are naturally produced by animals, like milk and honey. The packaging is also biodegradable or recyclable.
Iâve tested a few of their products so far, includingâŠ
On the Beach Blush, $34
On the Beach Blush
This long-wearing baked mineral blush is pretty pigmented and has a soft satin finish that I really like. You can sheer it out if you donât want a ton of color on your cheeks, or you can build it up in layers for a brighter look.
I usually like when my blush doesnât look too âblushy,â and this peachy shade is one of most natural-looking blushes Iâve ever worn. I think it looks A LOT like the impeccable Chanel Joues Contrastes, which are IMO the crĂšme de la crĂšme of natural-looking blushes. Sadly, Studio 78 Paris only makes three shades.
BOO! [INSERT WHINY VOICE HERE]

Liquid Lipstick in Ruby Wedding, $32
Ruby Wedding Liquid Lipstick, a.k.a plummy red perfection
Iâm normally not even a liquid lipstick girl, but I totally dig this lipstick. Itâs INTENSE! It feels like silky cream when it applies, but then it dries to a velvety finish.
Itâs full coverage, totally opaque, moisturizing, flavorless, unscented and hella long lasting. So, basically, itâs the sh*t. $32, available in six shades.
INGREDIENTS: ricinus communis seed oil, silica, polyglyceryl-2 isostearate/dimer dilinoleate copolymer, glyceryl rosinate, oleic/linoleic/linolenic polyglycerides, dimer dilinoleyl dimer dilinoleate, prunus armeniaca kernel extract, cocos nucifera oil, prunus armeniaca kernel oil, persea gratissima oil, helianthus annuus seed oil, citrus aurantium dulcis peel oil, chamomilla recutita flower extract, parfum, limonene, linalool. May contain: ci 77891, ci 77491, ci 77492, ci 77499, ci77742, ci 77510, ci 77007.
Bi-Phased Water Foundation in Enhancing Dew 02, $52
Studio 78 Paris Bi-Phased Water Foundation in Enhancing Dew 02
Their Bi-Phased Water Foundation is a mineral powder in a water base, so you shake it up, put a few drops on your fingers, then massage it into your face and neck.
Although they call it a foundationâŠit doesnât really cover anything or even out my skin tone, so just FYI, if you want real coverage, this wonât give it to you. Itâs beyond sheer, and itâs very lightweight, so, basically, when you wear it, your skin looks like your skinâŠbecause it mostly is. You can tell that youâre wearing something, but it isnât very noticeable.
Like, imagine a stylish French girlâs face after sheâs been riding around Paris on a bike (ideally, with a baguette in her basket, becauseâŠBREAD). Matte, but not completely matte, with a barely-there hint of healthy, radiant color.
I dunno if itâs worth $52, but it might be if one of your missions in life is to have your makeup look as un-makeup-like as possible. Itâs $52 and available in only two shades.
INGREDIENTS: aqua, persea gratissima oil (avocado oil), glycerin, mica, silica, sucrose palmitate, parfum, benzyl alcohol, dehydroacetic acid, limonene, linalool. May contain: ci 77891, ci 77491, ci 77492, ci 77499.
